Video game developer LucasArts has trademarked the name and the domain name registrations linked to Star Wars: First Assault, which is listed as an “interactive entertainment software” product, with the company also seeming to protect a number of rights linked to merchandising.

Rumors suggest that the new game might be developed by Spark Unlimited, the company that is also currently working on Lost Planet 3, and might use the same core structure as the Battlefront series.

LucasArts has not responded to the speculation in any way and has not offered any official information on the trademark.

At the moment LucasArts is also working on Star Wars 1313, a game set in the same universe that will explore the underworld of Coruscant and will see the player inhabit the persona of a bounty hunter.

Given that Jedi will play a limited role in Star Wars 1313 presumably the new Star Wars: First Assault game will focus on the Force wielders.
