14 DAY TRIAL // Fresh off an apology tour after saying during a stand up show that he’d kill his son if he ever told him he was gay, Tracy Morgan offends again. This time, he’s picking on the mentally challenged, making very insensitive jokes about them, it has emerged.
The new incident happened over the weekend, also during one of his live gigs. Only a week had passed since he was done apologizing to the LGBT community for the very offensive joke mentioned above, Us Weekly notes.
Perhaps not realizing that all eyes would still be on him, the comedian started telling a joke about the mentally disabled and how no one should ever attempt to get physical with them because they’re very strong.
“Don’t ever mess with women who have retarded kids,” the comedian said. The audience immediately reacted with very loud “uh-ohs,” but he didn’t seem to notice.
“Them young retarded males is strong. They’re strong like chimps,” he continued.
His remarks come at a time when several media outlets and concerned groups are trying to “ban” the word “retarded,” which is already being referred to as “the R-word.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Tracy didn’t stop here either, the same publication reports.
“The 30 Rock star went on to tell a story about an alleged teenage romance he shared with a girl he described as ‘a cripple’ with a prosthetic arm, a mechanical larynx and a portable dialysis machine,” Us Weekly writes.
Ironically enough, just minutes before, at the beginning of the night, Morgan had told his audience that he “just got out of controversy, man” and that, because of this reason, he would have to mind his words.
He also used the opportunity to thank all those who had shown up, because, by doing so, they had shown him that they were real fans, standing by him through thick and thin.
“I love you all so much. Did I tell you that tonight? I’ve been in trouble lately, and this was big for me that you all came out,” he said.
As of this moment, Tracy Morgan is yet to apologize for the “retarded” comment. Given the heat that’s been on his lately due to the gay joke, he’s bound to do that any minute now.
