Tracy Anderson has made a name for herself after working with A-list celebrities like Madonna and actress Gwyneth Paltrow, both of whom she has brought in such an enviable shape that, at one point, foul play (that is, plastic surgery) was actually speculated. Currently preparing to open her own gym and to launch a new book, the trainer is telling the media that the examples of her two most famous clients could be followed by any woman out there.

Speaking with WalesOnline, Anderson points out that being fit does not necessarily mean the kind of dedication and time Madonna and Gwyneth invest in their routines, since they’re celebrities and one of their “responsibilities” is to always look good. Still, losing a few pounds and keeping the weight off does require plenty of dedication and will – but not diet, if you ask Anderson because her workout is guaranteed to help women slim down by solely practicing moderation in what they eat.

“Women confuse their bodies because they’re confused themselves. They go to the gym one day, and running another – you’re never going to get results that way. […] I’ve spent 11 years researching this and working out how women with poor economic backgrounds, or who have become mothers, can get their bodies back or change them into something amazing they’ve never been before.” the trainer says for the publication.

So, as noted above, to lose weight with the Tracy Anderson Method, no dieting is required, just like neither Madonna nor Gwyneth ever count their calories or avoid foods they crave simply because they’re not on their pre-approved lists. “I had bread last night, I had chocolate souffle and Gwyneth and Madonna do too. The key is just not to eat bread for four days before a photo-shoot, don’t eat processed food and put it this way, we’d never go near fast food. We prefer green juice, fresh vegetables, fish, rice and lean proteins.” Anderson adds.

In the same interview, the trainer also debunks the myth that any sort of physical activity counts as exercise. According to her, walking to work is not the answer to our weight-related problems, especially if we’re talking of more than just a couple of extra pounds. Instead of deluding ourselves with doing something in this sense by walking to work in the morning, Anderson suggests, we might as well take a form of public transport and use the time we saved for hitting the gym for a real workout.
