The Trackpad settings app is a very popular software solution aimed at those of you who have already purchased a Surface tablet, be it RT or Pro, but a software glitch is reportedly preventing the app from detecting a number of Type Covers.

According to a post on Microsoft’s support forums, the app is experiencing issues with select Surface Pro covers, so the company is working on a fix as we speak.

“We are looking into this issue. Doing a Refresh or Reset will not remove the Firmware,” a Surface support team engineers said. “Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it as soon as possible,” another one added.

It appears that the glitch was caused by the last firmware update, so expect a new round of improvements as soon as May 2013’s Patch Tuesday cycle.
