Music-Alerts - a very useful technology

Since we all have our favorite artists (a.k.a. singers), many of us would like to be notified every time they roll out a single or an album. That's exactly what Music-Alerts wants to do. Music-Alerts is a very useful web-based technology which aims to keep you up-to-date with the latest album released by your favorite artist through the RSS feeds. All you need to do is visit its official page, enter the name of your singers, give a name to your feed, enter a visual CAPTCHA and you're ready to go. All the information will be sent to you through the RSS platform so all you need to do next is to enter the provided feed into your RSS client, no matter if you're using a downloadable application or a web-based technology such as Google Reader.

"I was frustrated trying to keep up with release dates for my favorite artists. One night I looked around for a service that would allow me to receive alerts before a new album came out. I couldn't find one (other than signing up to each individual bands' newsletter), so I decided to start one," Adam McFarland, the developer of Music-Alerts wrote in the FAQ.

Now a few words about the alerts. The information is entirely provided by Amazon, so in case you miss a piece of news, this is the service to criticize. Music-Alerts automatically updates the RSS feeds every 3 days, so in case there is a new album launched by your favorite artist, this is the time to find out the news.

At this time, the service is pretty limited because you can only get alerts through the RSS system but no email alerts or other types of notifications. Also, you can't remove an artist included in the feed but you can easily add a new one with ease.

"You can now add an artist to your feed using your feed key. You currently can not remove an artist from your feed. If your feed contains too many artists you don't want to receive alerts for, feel free to create a new one (hint: if you have a long list, copy and paste the description tag from the old feed so you don't have to re-type all of the artists)," the product's FAQ reads.
