By the looks of it, it might not be long until people start buying environmentally friendly cars not only because they cannot live with the thought of having a humongous ecological footprint, but also because such vehicles are the coolest that the market has to offer.

According to Clean Technica, Japanese automotive manufacture Toyota is now busy testing a wireless electric car charging station.

The station promises to recharge a Prius Plug-in in roughly an hour and a half, and, as noticeable in the demonstration video below, is not very complicated to use.

The same source tells us that, while trialing this innovative charging method, Toyota is to use three Prius Plug-in hybrids, all of which have been fitted with so-called wireless magnetic-resonance recharging technology.

The tests are being carried out in Japan's Aichi Prefecture and, if things go well, Toyota promises that it will do its best to make this technology available to the public sooner rather than later.
