Burmese pythons are an invasive species in the Florida Everglades. This basically means that, unlike other species, they are damaging the natural habitats in these parts of the United States and therefore have no business inhabiting them.

Because of this, one tour guide's decision to wrestle and kill one such massive snake supposedly for the sole purpose of ridding the Everglades of it will surely make some tip their hats.

Tommy Owens explains that, when he first saw the snake, he was merely exploring the Everglades together with a family of four and one other guide, Warren Wortman.

“They don't belong here, and that was literally running through my mind. I just launched on it essentially, ambushed it like any other predator out here,” Tommy Owens reportedly told members of the press.

The snake was 10.5 feet (about 3.2 meters) long, yet the tour guide eventually managed to overpower it and eventually killed it.
