Coming to bring some new blood to an otherwise old generation, Thermaltake has chosen one of its existing PSU product lines and updated it with some 80Plus Certified newcomers.

Thermaltake managed to make a name for itself on the power supply market by always refreshing its product line to reflect the most recent technological advancements.

This includes new components that boost stability and, perhaps even more importantly, adherence to the 80Plus rating system.

The past few years saw an increase in the emphasis on power efficiency, so the 80Plus system was invented in order to rank PSUs according to this criteria.

The new ToughPower Silver PSUs that Thermaltake created all comply to the 80Plus Silver rating, though this was more or less obvious from the name.

The series has existed ever since late last year (2010) and is aimed at gamers and enthusiasts that do not have the funds or the inclination to buy an even more expensive 80Plus Gold or, if one thinks truly hardcore, 80Plus Platinum model.

Three new members have now made their appearance, all of which have the mandatory up to 91% efficiency and wattages of 1,000 W, 1,200 W and 1,500 W, respectively.

They all have 105 ℃ Japanese electrolytic and solid state capacitors, along with active PFC and double-forward switching circuitry.

Furthermore, the 1,000 W and 1,200 W PSUs have dual 12V rails, while the third and strongest has four of them.

Unfortunately, even though Thermaltake went to the trouble of listing all the assets of the new trio (and it even mentioned the five-year warranty), it did not prove as forthcoming when it came to saying what prices they sport.

Until this final piece of info is disclsoed, prospective buyers can spend some time studying the newcomers first hand, on their official product pages (1000W, 1200W, 1500W).
