While consumer monitors usually have most of the media's attention, industrial and business models get their own share on a regular basis as well, as shown by the new item that Touch Revolution designed.

Touch Revolution issued a press release yesterday (September 29, 2011), in which it revealed the existence of a new addition to the TRu projected Capacitive (P-Cap) Monitor series.

The product in question, as behooves the company's name, has, as major asset, a touch input technology that makes it suitable for kiosks, digital signage, factory floors and health care, etc.

More specifically, it supports four-finger touch, even as the shape and size have a significant degree of thinness and visual appeal.

The bezel is very narrow, something that is quite a boon for a 21.5-inch screen, especially when the 16:9 aspect ratio makes it easy to use in landscape or portrait positions.

“People are beginning to see the benefits and uses for multi-touch applications that will change how we interact with products, do business and get information,” said Mark Hamblin, Touch Revolution CTO.

“In the emerging world of multi-touch computing, users will manipulate data, images and sound in a new, highly-tactile way that promises to transform the entire experience, making it more enjoyable, more productive and more self-directed than ever before.”

The 21.5-inch TRu Projected Capacitive Monitor is just the latest in a line that covers the 15 to 32-inch size range. The company even offers direct support and consultation.

“We know that many vertical markets and niche applications are poised for the leap to multi-touch technology,” said Gene Halsey, TRu Product Line director.

“OEMs, distributors and integrators have been waiting for the right combination of hardware, software and support to make this leap. Now that time is here, and Touch Revolution is ready.”
