In the fourth quarter of the year (2013), Intel should be ready to release a new generation of Atom central processing units, one that will open a new set of options for laptop makers.
Sure, ultrabooks and notebooks will use Haswell-based Core-series chips (June-bound), and Pentium/Celeron, but prices will still stay above $499 / 499 Euro.
To allow for the possibility of $200 / 200 Euro laptops, Intel will launch the Bay Trail quad-core Atom collection of chips in the fourth quarter of 2013.
That's right, Intel believes that cheap notebooks with prices below that of most 7-inch tablets will be up for order.
Considering that touch support will be included, we presume that Windows 8 will be installed on them.
Meanwhile, ultrabooks will come in $499 / 499 packages, according to Intel CEO Paul Otelini.
