Video game publisher SEGA announced that it has launched a new piece of downloadable content for its Total War: Shogun 2 strategy title, called Saints and Heroes, which introduces a number of new Elite units for gamers to use on the battlefield.

There are nine units that have legendary status in Japan, including: Tadakatsu’s Tetsubo Warriors that wield clubs, The Spears of Shizugatake cavalry with excellent charge abilities, Hanzo’s Shadows ninjas with stealth mastery and more.

All the new units can be used in the single-player and the multiplayer modes of Total War: Shogun 2.

At the moment, the development team at The Creative Assembly is working on Total War: Rome 2, a new strategy experience that takes gamers back to the Ancient Era and will focus more on decisive battles and on personal decisions.

It’s not clear whether the team has more DLC plans linked to Total War: Shogun 2.
