The development team at The Creative Assembly says that gamers should not be listening to rumors about the future of Total War: Rome II from so-called inside sources because they might be disappointed when the company reveals what it has actually planned for it.

In an official post on the forums, one of the community liaisons says that leaked details tend to be inaccurate and promises that during the coming week the studio will offer a clear look at its plans.

The Creative Assembly states, “We are not releasing an edition with all paid DLC included, and I can say that there’s no family tree system being implemented in ROME II in the immediate future.”

At the same time, “We know that this is an important feature to some of you, we do hear your feedback on it. Jack and the New Content Team are considering some ideas further down the line, but we’re not talking about whether it will make it or not any time soon.”

Total War: Rome II was launched in September 2013, and since then the development team at The Creative Assembly has delivered patches, a number of free content packs and two new campaigns, based on the Caesar invasion of Gaul and on the conflict between Rome and Carthage.

There are plans to continue to support the experience in the coming months with more interesting experiences.

Rumors about a family tree system for the strategy game appeared towards the end of last year and have since then surfaced a few times, and it seems that the studio does have something in development, although the new feature might not be exactly what the fan base is waiting for.

The Creative Assembly has not said what it will announce this week, but gamers will probably get a new expansion based on a well-known historical conflict, which might include the fight launched after the death or Caesar or Rome’s conquests in the East.

Recently, the developers delivered a fourteenth update for the strategy experience that includes a major upgrade for the Artificial Intelligence, making it actually threatening and capable during siege battles.

At the same time, the fan base can use a new line-up of Suebi units that is designed to make the faction more competitive, and there are also more female warriors that can be recruited by those who pick up the Daughters of Mars DLC.
