Many fans were skeptical when The Creative Assembly announced its ambitious plans to patch Total War: Rome II, but the studio is keeping its promises and has already launched a fourth patch in beta form.

This comes less than one week after a third full update has been delivered for the strategy title.

Gamers can opt in to test the new patch via Steam, by selecting the game and choosing the Betas tab.

The Creative Assembly is fixing a number of crashes and performance issues with the game to make sure that all players can enjoy the experience.

At the same time, there are a lot of balance modifications and changes to some core features that should make the computer opponents smarter when it comes to research and more capable in the tactical battles.

A full list can be read on the official wiki.

This month should also witness the launch of the first new culture pack for Total War: Rome II.
