The development team at The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA announce that they are working on a new Emperor Edition for Total War: Rome II, which is set to include an entirely new single player campaign and all the downloadable content that has been offered for free since the game was first launched.

All those who are already owners of the title will get it for free as an upgrade, and the studio explains that it will also introduce a major new patch in the game in order to make both civil wars and politics more important in all campaigns.

The paid DLC is not included in the Emperor Edition for Total War: Rome II and it is unclear whether a new version of the game that incorporates them will be launched.

The new single player campaign will focus on the struggles inside the Roman Empire after the death of Caesar and the way Augustus took out his enemies on the battlefield and via diplomacy in order to become the Emperor.

The Emperor Edition for Total War: Rome II does not yet have an official launch date.

The Creative Assembly says that it will offer more information about the content included and the new features in the coming weeks.
