The company’s latest flagship is slightly more expensive

Last week was a pretty busy one for Xiaomi, as the device maker launched two new handset models into the world; we’re talking about the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro.

Out of the two, the Mi Note Pro is the most impressive coming out with a powerful Snapdragon 810 processor fitted with 4GB of RAM.

Both handsets are pretty sleek looking and offer a premium feel. However, the 64GB Mi Note Pro is Xiaomi’s most expensive handset ever released, coming in with a price of $530 / €457. The Mi Note is not far behind either, with its $450 / €388 price tag.

You might think the abnormally high (for Xiaomi) prices will put some customers off. But as it turns out, this is far from being the case.

The Xiaomi Mi Note proves to be immensely popular

Pre-orders for the Mi Note handset have already opened in China and according to an Asian report (as seen at Android Headlines) the number of reserved smartphones is pretty huge.

It’s still too early to have the real numbers, given that people are probably placing pre-orders as we speak, but the pre-order period ends on January 27 and maybe we’ll know then.

If you’re wondering about the Mi Note Pro, you still have a while to wait until you are able to pick one of these models up.

The phablet will be offered starting this March, because Qualcomm is still working on fixing the Snapdragon 810’s overheating issues, although a recent report said the chip maker would be able to deliver to Xiaomi on time.

It will be interesting to see whether the Pro version is received with wide-opened arms just like its less-advanced brother.

Despite higher prices, analysts predict that Xiaomi will be able to ship 13 to 15 million Mi Note phones throughout 2015. We’re not sure if these numbers include both Note models or only the regular one, but even so the numbers are pretty impressive.
