Toshiba’s Digital Products Division announced, just ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, that it was going to introduce a full lineup of consumer electronics and computing products, which would be showcased at the aforementioned computer show. Among some of the products expected to be unveiled by the company there’s the new Qosmio gaming portable system that has been designed to incorporate the latest in portable computing hardware, enabling a higher level of performance. In addition, Toshiba also announced its support for the new ATI Mobility Radeon HD4000 series of graphics processors, which deliver DirectX 10.1 support to portable computer system users.

 

“This is an exciting time for the consumer electronics community—we’re dealing with a generation that is technically sophisticated, and responds favorably to innovation,” said Jeff Barney, vice president and general manager of Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. “That’s exactly our mandate at Toshiba: We deliver laptops, devices and accessories that combine entertainment with innovative technologies, and every product on display at this show demonstrates those core values.”

 

One of the more impressive laptops expected to be showcased at CES is the Qosmio X305-Q725, which comes in a 17-inch form factor with a TruBrite display. The system packs NVIDIA’s high-performance GeForce 9800M GTX graphics, which, combined with Intel’s Core 2 Quad processors and a 64GB solid state drive, could provide gaming users with the necessary computing power required by the latest gaming applications. In addition, said laptop will also boast premium Harman Kardon stereo speakers and is available for purchase at a MSRP of $2699.99. Other Qosmio X305 configurations are available for a starting price tag of $1499.

 

Toshiba is also going to showcase the Satellite E105-S1402, designed for the masses, as a sleek and thin laptop that is rated at a weight of less than five pounds. It packs a built-in webcam with face recognition for security purposes and can deliver up to four and a half hours of battery life. A refreshed Toshiba Satellite lineup is also expected to be showcased at this year’s CES event.

 

The company also announced that it would introduce the X20 gaming mouse, a gaming backpack, the TDP-F10U LED Projector and a dynadock U Universal USB docking station, all the more reason to be present at its booth at CES.
