Toshiba has only recently unveiled its latest professional laptop, known as the Satellite Pro L510, but it seems that the PC supplier didn't see any point in waiting and has just unleashed another device aimed at businesses, namely a newcomer in the Tecra line of business laptops. Through this model, the company combines support for not just the newest hardware, but also for older business infrastructures, by merging current-generation hardware with multiple OS choices and a design that goes well with attires based on suits and ties.

The machine is known as the Toshiba Tecra M11 and is a 14-inch mobile PC based on the Intel Calpella mobile platform. For maximum portability and so as to be used as a traveling companion, it has a thickness of only 1.5cm, weighs five pounds and has a textured charcoal black finish that reduces fingerprints.

As for the actual specifications, there is a Core i3 or i5 CPU, up to 3GB of RAM, an HDD with 320GB of storage space, a 14-inch, LED-backlit LCD (1,366 x 768), Gigabit Ethernet, an ExpressCard slot, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11 a/g/n WiFi and Intel integrated graphics or the Nvidia NVS 2100M discrete GPU.

"Mobile professionals cannot sacrifice productivity on the road, needing all the conveniences of the office no matter where they are," Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division, said.

"The Tecra M11 Series represents our ability to provide the latest mobile technologies, smart features and comprehensive security in a highly portable and affordable package. These laptops are built with our renowned quality and enhanced durability and we back the laptop with a generous three-year limited warranty to assure businesses can buy with confidence."

The Toshiba Tecra M11 runs Windows 7, comes with a copy of Windows XP for any eventuality, has a starting price of $899 and is accompanied by a three-year warranty.
