A lot of manufacturers these days are bundling their products with protective features, in order to safe-guard devices against accidental spills, drops and bumps.

As most pet owners might know, our furry friends don’t really pay attention to electronics around the house when they want something. So if you’re more worried about your dog damaging your expensive Ultrabook than you spilling a cup of coffee on the keyboard, keep reading.

Toshiba performed a weird resistance test on its Portage Ultrabook by bringing in an atypical helper – Gusto the dog.

The testers temped the poor beast by placing some bacon on the laptop’s keyboard, which immediately prompted Gusto to start slobbering the keys with the passion of a true connoisseur.

Toshiba’s Portege is marketed by the producing company as being spill-resistant and capable of sustaining up to 50 ml / 1.6 oz of water, so it managed to pass Gusto’s yucky test without much problem.

Check the video above to see for yourselves how bacon and dog drool didn't prove to be a fatal combination for Toshiba’s Portege Ultrabook.
