Toshiba Digital Products Division, part of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today released the Portege M400-S4032 Tablet PC with integrated high-speed Evolution Data Optimized (EV-DO) technology for Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess service.

The EV-DO technology was developed for Portege M400 as it is considered to be one of the most suitable mobile computing solutions for special market segments such as healthcare, insurance, real estate and other highly mobile industries that need a permanent access to data and also Wi-Fi 'hot spots'.

Toshiba's Diversity Antenna design delivers enhanced, wireless signal reception through the integration of strategically placed EV-DO, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas in the notebook's display. Under the Connect classification of EasyGuard, the Portege M400-S4032 includes ConfigFree and patented Diversity Antenna. ConfigFree is the company's intuitive, graphic connectivity management utility developed to simplify the wired or wireless connectivity experience, as it enables users to switch between networking options depending on the network environment.

A durable and balanced tool that is comfortable to hold, carry and use, the Portege M400 weighs approximately 4.5 pounds and comes with a six-cell battery. Toshiba offers an optional six-cell Slice Expansion battery to further enhance computing time.

This latest technological advance provides Portege M400-S4032 customers with the fullest collection of connectivity options available, including EV-DO, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet. To complement this broadband connectivity, the Portege M400-S4032 includes Toshiba's exclusive EasyGuard technology-a series of hardware and software enhancements for business-class notebooks that help boost network connectivity, mobile security and system integrity.

The standard configuration of the Portege M400-S4032 includes the Intel Core Duo Processor T24004, 100GB Serial ATA hard disk drive, 1GB memory and a DVD SuperMulti optical drive. The Portege M400-S4032 featuring high-speed wireless EV-DO technology is now available through Toshiba Direct, mail order and the company's Reseller Partners with prices starting at $2,199.
