If you planned on waiting for Ultrabooks to become cheaper, then you don’t need to wait anymore as BestBuy and Toshiba have now announced a special promotion that drops the price of the Toshiba Portege Z835 to $699.99 (€531)

As Liliputing reports, that is $200 less than the list price for the Z835 as well as $100 less than the price Best Buy was charging for the Ultrabook last month.

In order to get the price down, this version of the Toshiba Ultrabook is powered by an 1.4GHz Intel Core i3 processor seconded by 4GB of system memory and packing an 128GB SSD.

The rest of the specifications list doesn't bring any surprises, as the Z830-10E packs the standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gigabit LAN connectivity, a 1.3MP webcam and a single USB 3.0 port.

The 13.3-inch display has a native resolution of 1366x768 pixels, but the Ultrabook can also be connected to a larger external display via the included HDMI, VGA and mini-DP video outputs.

Furthermore, for those of you who don’t want to run any wires through your home Toshiba also included support for Intel's Wireless Display technology.

All of these are housed inside an elegant case measuring a mere 15.9mm (0.6 inches) in thickness, which is constructed from magnesium alloy and aluminum, and are joined by a backlit keyboard for making typing in the dark a lot easier.

Power is provided by a Li-ion 8-cell non-removable battery pack that according to Toshiba enables the Portege Z835 ultra-thin notebook to run up to 8 hours without a recharge.

Those who require more processing power can turn their attention towards the more powerful Portege Z830 which is available with faster 1.7GHz Core i5 or 1.8GHz Core i7 processors, seconded by 4GB and 6GB of RAM, respectively, but these models also feature higher price tags starting at $1199 (about 900 EUR).
