Toshiba officially introduced five new notebook models in the Satellite Pro family. The new portable computing solutions come with 13.3-inch, 14.1-inch, 15.4-inch and 17-inch displays, paired with Intel's Core 2 Duo processors.

According to the company, the new products in the ever-expanding Satellite-Pro family are targeted especially at business users who are constantly on the run, as well as at mobile professionals and students. The wide range of display sizes makes it easier for the user to pick the right model for maximum portability and the computing power they need.

"The expanded Satellite Pro family of laptops demonstrates Toshiba's commitment to its customers," said Jeff Barney, vice president of marketing, Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. "Listening to the voice of the customer and their requests for more computing options within the affordable Satellite Pro lineup, Toshiba is delivering five new models of Satellite Pro laptops to meet customer needs," he continued.

All the new Satellite models come with a DVD SuperMulti drive, TruBrite widescreen display (that varies from one model to another), as well as wireless LAN.

The lowest-end offering is the 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen Satellite Pro L300 model built on the Centrino platform with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The L300D counterpart comes with similar technical specifications, except for the fact that it is powered by an AMD dual-core chip. Both notebooks are sold with either a pre-installed version of Windows Vista or with Windows XP Professional

The Satellite Pro M300 notebook comes in the right form factor to maximize portability while still being able to deliver business-class features. The M300 is available for $991 and includes 802.11 a/g/n wireless and a 1.3 megapixel Webcam with built-in microphone.

The highest-end offering is the L350 notebook, that features a 17-inch LCD display, able to deliver XGA+ screen resolutions. The notebook comes with a 10-key numeric pad, integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi, 160GB hard drive and a built-in webcam with microphone. This is also the most expensive model in the line-up and is available for $1,099.
