Toshiba Unveils Driver and BIOS Support for Vista RC1

With the availability of Windows Vista Release Candidate 1, Microsoft has advised users of potential compatibility issues with select models from
Toshiba. Portege M400, Qosmio G35(G35-AV600, G35-AV610, G35-AV650, G35-AV660), Tecra M4, Tecra M5(PTM50U) and Tecra M5 (PTM51U) have all experienced issues upon the installation of Vista.

The issue was generated by the Toshiba technology that did not deliver Windows Vista drivers. Microsoft provided a workaround by advising customers to do a clean install of Windows Vista, but according to feedback, the mitigation solution was not always successful as one of the major problems involved the absence of SATA-RAID controller drivers for Vista, resulting in the impossibility of the OS to detect the hard-drives.

This is no longer the case as Toshiba has addressed the problems and is making available for download both driver and BIOS support for Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 on select models that were impacted by installation problems.
