Toshiba decided to go official with its 10-inch Honeycomb tablet after hinting it back in January, at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Toshiba Thrive is the latest tablet launched by the electronics manufacturer after the company tried its hand on Google's mobile platform with Toshiba TG01, TG02 smartphone and Toshiba Folio 100 tablet last year.

According to Toshiba, the Thrive will be available for pre-orders starting June 13th for $429.99, while the first shipments will be delivered in early July.

The tablet is said to run the latest Android 3.1 Honeycomb platform and bundles a plethora of external ports including two USB ports, a miniUSB and an HDMI-out port, an SD card slot, as well as a dock connection port.

As expected, the Thrive is equipped with a dual-core Tegra 2 processor with NVIDIA GeForce graphics CPU for HD-quality video and console-like gaming.

In addition, the tablet features a 5-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel secondary front-facing camera for video calls.

The device will be delivered with several accessories including docks, cases, and in different color options.

Toshiba Thrive has also been gifted with a removal case so that the battery can be quickly and easily replaced in case of need.

In this regard, the manufacturer offers customers the possibility to purchase replacement batteries directly through its stores for $89.99.

When it comes to software, Toshiba Thrive is bundled with several interesting apps including File Manager, Media Manager, Quick Office, Need For Speed, PrinterShare and LogMeIn.

As the manufacturer suggests, the Thrive will be available in 3 variants, which will be announced in due time: an 8GB model worth $429.99, a 16GB model worth $479.99 and a 32GB model worth $579.99.

None of the above mentioned tablets will feature 3G connectivity, instead they will offer Wi-Fi connectivity for Internet browsing.
