14 DAY TRIAL // Toshiba has just unveiled information regarding the availability and prices for the Toshiba Thrive tablet in Canada.
Digital Products Group (DPG), a division of Toshiba of Canada Limited, recently confirmed that the device will be available on the Canadian market in August, but it will be labeled as “Toshiba Tablet.”
Toshiba's first Honeycomb tablet is currently available for pre-order in United States via Amazon, Office Depot and the manufacturer's own webstore.
Toshiba Tablet comes with a large 10.1-inch LED backlit touchscreen, which is based on the company's exclusive Adaptive Display and Resolution+ video enhancement technologies that enhance image clarity and sharpness.
Powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1 GHz and Android 3.1 Honeycomb, the latest Toshiba tablet offers users a convenient way to connect, browse and enjoy videos, movies, games, photos, books and more.

Designed to deliver a fulsome tablet experience, the new Toshiba Tablet offers consumers a competitively priced product that will serve a variety of their needs,” said Steve Wong, product manager at Toshiba.
In addition, Toshiba Tablet features hardware-accelerated support for Adobe Flash content, a comfortable virtual keyboard with Swype technology, as well as gyroscope and accelerometer, which allows for a rapid and smooth screen rotation and control.
The tablet is also equipped with a 5-megapixel photo snapper, a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing webcam, as well as stereo speakers tuned with sound enhancement technologies from Toshiba and SRS Labs.
Customers will be able to choose one of the five colors (Blue Moon, Raspberry Fusion, Lavender Bliss, Silvery Sky and Green Apple), as well as the memory configuration that suits them best (8GB, 16GB or 32GB models).
Toshiba Tablet will be available for purchase via Best Buy, Future Shop, Staples, Walmart and Shoptoshiba.ca, at three different price points: 8GB version for $429, 16GB version for $479 and a 32GB version for $579.
