One of the handsets that keep on emerging at various certification forums around the Internet is the Toshiba TG02, which has been recently approved by the Global Certification Forum, and which was spotted not too long ago in FCC's courtyard. The handset made it into the wild last year, soon after Toshiba brought to the market the TG01 device running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system, and it seems that we're nearing its release on shelves.

According to the Global Certification Forum approval, the Toshiba TG02 mobile phone is expected to arrive on the market with quad band GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) and UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA (900 / 2100 MHz) connectivity options, but offers no other details on the device itself. However, it seems that the frequency bands supported by the handset are not from the North American continent, which might suggest that only other parts of the world will enjoy this device's features.

According to the unwired, the TG02 is highly likely to turn into the second Windows phone Toshiba launches on the market. The specs list of the handset are not known for the time being, but there are great chances that it will follow the footsteps of the older TG01, which boasts a 4.1-inch touchscreen display with WVGA resolution, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, and a great deal of connectivity options packed inside.

At the same time, there are great chances that Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system, which was officially mentioned today as powering the Sony Ericsson Aspen, and which emerged into the wild a lot during the past few months, will be powering the TG02. There are no details available for now on when the phone might become available for purchase, but with FCC and GCF approvals, having it showcased on the floor at the Mobile World Congress later this month is a safe bet, one should agree.
