As one might guess, it will focus on Ultrabooks instead

Netbooks are famous for both their rapid and massive success, as well as their equally fast fall from grace. Toshiba is contributing to the latter, or confirming it, according to Liliputing.

Basically, the company has said that it will no longer launch any new netbooks on the US market.

That sets it apart from Acer, HP and ASUS, who will continue to release such low-end systems, at least for a while.

From now on, Toshiba will pay more attention to the ultrabook segment, even though ultrabooks aren't really so ultra anymore.

Since Intel just won't consent to lower Ivy Bridge CPU prices, laptop makers have to settle for other compromises.

Not only will Ivy Bridge CPUs be swapped with Sandy Bridge, but even SSDs will be replaced with HDDs (in some cases). Most recently, cheap batteries have been added to the list of concessions.
