Apparently, the recently unveiled Toshiba SmartPad tablet has been given a, more or less, official name, Folio 100 that is, and even the specifications of the electronic seem to have found their way to the Internet, revealing a multimedia-oriented slate with Flash support.

The so-called Toshiba SmartPad was unveiled last week and was said to be a Tegra 2 device loaded with a version of the Android OS.

Unfortunately, that report did not have full information on the hardware specifications of the electronic, leaving most, except for part of the I/O options, to speculation.

The new report actually says that the exact name of the so-called SmartPad is Folio 100.

The Folio 100 runs on, as already mentioned, the NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip), which has good processing and even advanced multimedia capabilities.

This chip from NVIDIA has already been adopted by other tablet projects and supports high-quality video playback, among other things.

The configuration also includes 16GB of internal storage, an SD and MMC card reader and a 10-inch touchscreen with a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

Needles to say, the slate boasts the more or less full range of connectivity and I/O options, namely Bluetooth, 3G, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, USB and HDMI ports, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and a pair of 0.5W speakers.

All in all, this tablet should cater to all multimedia/entertainment needs of its purchasers and its 1,020mAh battery will keep it running for up to 7 hours.

As for the operating system, Toshiba has supposedly decided on the Android 2.2, otherwise known as Froyo.

Finally, the machine measures 281 x 181 x 14mm, weighs 760 grams and benefits from the Opera browser with Flash support.

Unfortunately, the price or exact availability of this item has not been made public so far, but it is quite possible that its maker will demonstrate it at IFA 2010.
