Toshiba Rolls Out New Satellite L-Series Laptops

New Satellite L-series laptops hit Stateside

After having introduced its refreshed line of Satellite L-series laptops in the European market, Toshiba has decided it's time to announce an update of the aforementioned series in the US. On that note, the company has recently rolled out a couple of new Satellite L Series laptops, providing the end-users with a wide variety of choices, ranging from display size to storage, graphics, memory and processing power. The new L series will be available in form factors of 14-inch to 17.3-inch, featuring HD TruBrite wide-screen displays and catering to the needs of consumers on a tight budget.

“In this new economy, consumers are demanding more choice,” Ron Smith, vice president of marketing of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division, said. “We’ve expanded our entry level laptop line, adding more screen size options, new features and brought in our Fusion Finish to give the line a fantastic new look. It’s a great example of Toshiba’s ability to meet the market’s demands with solid, high-quality products that exemplify our commitment to value and innovation.”

With the new L-series, Toshiba has introduced four new model classes, each one with different features and specifications. In the lightweight category, Toshiba has unveiled the 14-inch Satellite L510/L515 laptops, followed by the 15.6-inch and 16-inch Satellite L500/L505, while the last one features the larger 17.3-inch Satellite L550/L555. As far as technical specifications go, the new laptops are designed with the latest processors, wide-screen displays, storage ranging from 250GB to 500GB, high-speed wireless connectivity and a number of expansion slots.

Featuring a Fusion finish design, the new Toshiba Satellite L-series of laptops has been specifically designed to provide customers with an optimum computing experience in a compact and budget-friendly package. Additional features include the company's PC Health Monitor, Power Saving Eco utility and the the discrete ATI Radeon 3100 graphics.

Already available with choices for Intel and AMD processors, the new Satellite L-series will be priced at an MSRP of US$549.99 and US$649.99, for the L500/L505 and L510/L515/L550/L555, respectively.
