With the advent of the next-generation 4G WiMAX connectivity technology, it was only a matter of time before laptops capable of it surfaced, and Toshiba just released a number of Satellite Series mobile PCs that support it.
Currently, the WiMAX 4G high-speed connectivity technology is available in 54 cities worldwide, though it is expected to get a much wider coverage soon.
The Satellite models that Toshiba prepared are multiple, yet only part of Toshiba's most recent offer with built-in 4G wireless.
The most powerful and, of course, expensive of the lot is the Satellite E205 (E205-S1980), which is a 14-inch machine based on an Core i5 CPU.
This CPU is paired with the NVIDIA GeForce 310M graphics card, which benefits from the Optimus technology, which dynamically switches between it and the integrated graphics depending on workload.
The product also boasts a DVD drive, DDR3 memory, a backlit keyboard and a 14-inch LED-backlit display, its price being of $1,079.99.
Toshiba also prepared the Satellite M645 models, the M645-S4063 and M645-S4070 to be exact, which also measure 14 inches and Core i3/i5 CPUs.
The machines have a starting price of $759.99, 500GB HDDs, 4GB of RAM, integrated and/or NVIDIA graphics and Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio technology.
The company also has the Satellite A665 series of notebooks in store, composed of the A665-S6086, A665-S6094, A665-S6097, A665-S6098 and A665-3DV6.
They all has 16-inch TruBrite displays, Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 CPUs and Integrated graphics, as well as NVIDIA discrete graphics, depending on user choice.
The base price of these five last models is $804.99, though it can, of course, grow depending on the hardware options that each user selects.
Now all that remains is for customers eager to take advantage of the 4G wireless connectivity to show up and place their orders. Sales will commence on September 26.
