While laptops are definitely in no shortage on today's IT market, there never seems to be any tendency to slow down on the release of new machines, and Toshiba again confirms this with the Qosmio line.

There might have been talk about the Toshiba X500 at some point, and the laptop still exists, but a successor has now been provided.

Granted, an actual official press release hasn't emerged per se, but the folks over at Notebook Italia have gotten a hold of some pictures of the X770, along with the specifications.

Turns out that the newcomer is more powerful than its predecessor and can easily qualify as a high-end laptop that doesn't cut corners when it comes to aesthetics either.

Measuring 17.3 inches, the notebook has a hardware configuration centered around the 2 GHz (2.9 GHz in Turbo Boost) Intel Core i7-2630QM central processing unit.

The built-in CPU graphics are supplemented by the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M discrete graphics, while 8 GB of DDR3-1333 RAM (random access memory) ensure that there is never a shortage of resources for any operation.

Meanwhile, the full might can be conveyed through the Full HD LCD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), which may or may not support NVIDIA 3D Vision.

Furthermore, the storage capacity is of 1.25 TB, 750 GB provided by a 5400 RPM HDD and the rest by a 500 GB hybrid drive (at 7200 RPM).

Even more, Harman Kardon speakers deliver high quality sound, while a DVD burner handled optical storage and media playback off disks.

Other specifications include an 8-in-1 memory card reader, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, an HD webcam (with optional 3D support), VGA, HDMI and three USB 2.0 ports, plus one USB 3.0 connector.

All the hardware is handled by the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system and sales should begin over the next few weeks, for the starting price of roughly $1,850.
