Toshiba Portege Z830 Ultrabook Specs and Pricing Uncovered

We first laid our eyes on Toshiba's Portege Z830 during the company's introduction of the Ultrabook at the IFA 2011 fair, but few details about this laptop have been available until recently, when a French website has managed to dig out infos about the Z830's specs and pricing.

While the details uncovered refer to the French model of the Portege Z830, these should also hold true for the rest of Europe, although there may be some small specifications and pricing modifications between the different versions.

According to the information provided, at the heat of Toshiba's Ultrabook stands a dual-core Core i5-2467M processor with a base clock speed of 1.6GHz.

This is seconded by 4GB of system memory and a 128GB solid state drive, while graphics is provided by the integrated Intel HD 3000 GPU found inside mobile Sandy Bridge processors.

The rest of the specifications list doesn't bring any surprises, as the Z830 packs the standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gigabit LAN connectivity, HDMI, VGA and mini-DP video outputs, a 1.3MP webcam and a single USB 3.0 port. The 13.3-inch display has a native resolution of 1366x768 pixels.

The good news is that Toshiba also included support for Intel's Wireless Display technology in the Portege Untrabook, while the keyboard is illuminated for making typing in the dark a lot easier.

All of these are housed inside an elegant case measuring a mere 15.9mm (0.6 inches) in thickness, which is constructed from magnesium alloy and aluminum.

Even more surprising is that Toshiba managed to achieve such a low profile without giving up on using a removable battery, so users can freely swap the 6-cell power pack when it isn't able to come anywhere near (due to prolonged ware) the 8 hours of autonomy claimed by the company.

Toshiba's Portege Z830 Ultrabook is expected to arrive in Europe in the coming weeks and pricing in France has been set at 999 Euros, which translates into about $1350 US. (via Laptop Spirit)
