The Portege G810 smartphone was first announced in February, during MWC 2008, and back then Toshiba said the device would be released in the second quarter of the year. Well, it seems the Japanese company is indeed ready to release the G810, as several live images with the handset have recently appeared.

Part of the Portege line-up, which also includes devices like G450, G710 and G910 / G920, Toshiba G810 is a very nice looking smartphone that packs lots of cool features into a slim and elegant case.

First of all, the G810 comes with the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 OS and with a simple friendly interface that will allow users to interact with the features of the handset in the most natural way possible. Furthermore, the 2.8 inch, 240 x 320 pixel TFT touchscreen display is big enough for about any mobile activity.

Among the other features of the new Toshiba, we have: built-in GPS and A-GPS, Wi-Fi, a 3.15 Megapixel camera with auto focus and video recording, Music player, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth, HTML browser, email, USB, a Qualcomm MSM7200 processor at 400 MHz, 256MB of ROM, 128MB of RAM and microSD card support. A very nice thing about the G810 is that it comes with quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) as well as tri-band HSDPA connectivity (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz), hence it can be used almost anywhere in the world, including in North America.

Measuring 110 x 58 x 14 millimeters and weighing 120 grams, the smartphone includes a 1530 mAh battery that should keep the device functional for up to 4 hours in talk-time mode and up to 200 hours in stand-by mode.

Toshiba Portege G810 is available on pre-order at some online retail stores (here, for example), for retail prices of around $800 (500 Euros). When officially launched (most probably in June), we hope its price will not be that high.
