There are a bunch of new memory cards making their way towards Toshiba's collection.

They will be released in April at the earliest and in August at the latest, this year (2012).

The type 1 series have a maximum read speed of 95 MB/s and a write speed of 90 MB/s.

Type 2 cards are just as fast when it comes to reading, but their upper limit during writes is of 60 MB/s.

As for the Type 3 Exceria cards, they read at up to 90 MB/s and write at 30 MB/s tops.

All newcomers are compliant with the SD Memory Card Standard Ver.3.0 UHS-I and are supposed to serve cameras or anything else capable of shooting photos, recording videos and transferring such files to and from other devices.

Japan is where shipments will first begin, with the rest of the world to follow soon after. The capacities are 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB. Go here for exact specs on each model.
