According to an agreement between laptop manufacturer Toshiba and Symantec, company that specializes in providing security software solutions, all laptop models produced by the previously mentioned manufacturer and distributed in North and South America, will come with Norton 360 and Norton Internet Security 2008 installed on them. The buyers will be able to use these security solutions for free over a period of 60 days. This is an introductory subscription provided by Toshiba in three different languages (English, Spanish, and French).

Jeff Barney, General Manager and Vice President of the Digital Products Division within Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., comments: "To our customers, Norton means trusted and comprehensive security for their laptop computers. By pre-installing Norton's security solutions on all of our laptop computers, we will offer our customers a world-class security solution to help protect their laptop in terms of PC security, identity protection, tune-up technologies and backup capabilities."

Worldwide, Symantec is one of the best known providers of security, storage and system management solutions. NIS (Norton Internet Security) is meant to efficiently protect the user while surfing the Internet, which is chucked full of infected pages and malware spreading sites. Norton 360 protects against all sorts of threats, such as computer viruses, phishing, spyware, and spam. Both solutions are meant to protect the user from all the various security threats one can encounter online.

Erin Hintz, Vice President of worldwide consumer marketing with Symantec, comments: "Symantec is pleased to see Toshiba, one of the premiere brands in mobile computing, adding our award-winning Norton security software to its laptop computers in North and South America. […] Toshiba has been an innovator in the laptop computer market for more than 20 years. We look forward to providing Toshiba customers with our all-in-one security solution to help safeguard their laptop computers."

If you want, you too could give the Symantec security software, Norton 360, NIS 2008 and the latest NAV 2009, a proper going-over. The simple truth of the matter is that you don't have to get a Toshiba laptop to see if Symantec's software solutions are able to offer you proper online security.

Norton 360 is available for download here.
Norton AntiVirus Final 2009 is available for download here.
Norton Internet Security 2008 and 2009 Beta are available for download here.
