They should start selling in the second quarter of the year, 2012

Toshiba may not have revealed the prices of its newest multimedia laptops, but it did disclose more or less everything else worth knowing about them.

First off, the name of the line is P, as in the Satellite P series of multimedia notebooks, and there are four of them in total.

Their LCDs (liquid crystal displays) are what set them apart from each other, predictably enough, though not just through size.

Granted, two of them measure 15.6 inches in diagonal and are named Satellite P850 and the Satellite P855, while the other two have panels of 17.3 inches and the Satellite P875 and Satellite P870 monikers.

Nevertheless, what is more outstanding is that, for both screen sizes, one laptop has a regular Full HD panel, while the other offers glasses-free 3D.

Toshiba chose Intel's latest central processing units, though that doesn't mean the Ivy Bridge series, what with it having been ever so unceremoniously delayed.

In other words, a Core i5 or (most likely) Core i7 CPU from the Sandy bridge generation is present, backed by an unspecified (but surely considerable) amount of DDR3 RAM (random access memory).

An NVIDIA discrete GPU handles the graphics, while a hard drive unit offers up to 1 TB of storage space, plus 8GB of NAND storage in case it is a hybrid.

Furthermore, the company tossed in a DVD Super Multi drive, as well as the option to get a Blu-ray drive instead.

The list of specifications goes on with Gigabit Ethernet, a Full HD web camera with Face Recognition, backlighting for the tiled keyboard, Harman Kardon speakers (with Slip Stream technology and SRS Premium Sound 3D) and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless support, plus Wi-Fi.

Finally, the Satellite P notebooks have HDMI outputs, four USB 3.0 ports each (two Sleep-and-Charge) and Wi-Fi with Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) video streaming. Sales will begin in the second quarter of 2012, for prices that have yet to be disclosed.
