Toshiba's HD DVD dedicated notebook, the flagship of the company's division, has adopted Intel's latest Core 2 Duo, which is said to enhance the previous specs, delivering a one of a kind viewing experience. The renowned 'hacker notebook' Qosmio G35-AV660 Core 2 Duo that has been used to destroy the security applications featured by Universal's HD DVD movies comes with a HD DVD-ROM and DVD SuperMulti drive and a TruBrite 17" widescreen UXGA display at a resolution of 1900x1200 pixels.

The graphics are signed by Nvidia's GeForce Go 7600 display card with 256MB of GDDR3 memory and the processor is, of course, a 2.0GHz T7200 Core 2 Duo.

But if you are already impressed, I assure you that's not all, as Toshiba tried to boom the market with its notebook and especially its prime competitor - Sony's Blu-ray compliant notebook. Therefore, the G35-AV660 sports 2GB of RAM and no less than two 120GB hard drives especially added for you to store all of your favorite movies.

But the editors from Computer World discovered some flaws in the pricy notebook, which will be retailed at about $ 3,500. The external HDMI port with HDCP support enables you to utilize the notebook as a HD-DVD player by connecting the unit directly to an HDMI-capable HDTV. Consequently, you will easily connect the notebook to the TV with a push of a button, and then multiple choices can be surfed using the Fn and F5 keys.

But, if the TV doesn't feature a HDMI capability, than you can kiss the HD DVD movie goodbye. Furthermore, the G35-AV650 has outputs meant to support analog S-Video and a VGA monitor, however, not even one of them will make possible a HD-DVD signal.
