It was last month that Toshiba introduced the world's first detachable ultrabook, which left me a bit confused as to why it was not just called a tablet.

The device is called Portege Z10t and is made for businesspersons and office work.

Now, the price has finally been disclosed, since Toshiba finally made the official introduction of the mobile computer.

The 11-inch laptop/tablet costs $1,499, which, according to exchange rates, can mean anything from €1,162 to €1,499.

It might seem a bit steep for such a small system, even one with 1080p video support (IPS) and features like TPM, but that's what Toshiba decided.

For those curious, the hardware revolves around an Intel Ivy Bridge vPro CPU (Core i5 or Core i7), and consists of 128GB or 256GB SSD, 4 GB RAM (8GB once Haswell is offered), USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI, Ethernet, full-size SD reader and a micro-HDMI socket, among other things.
