The Consumer Electronics Show has been seeing the launch of many products, a large part of which were mobile computers, both notebooks and netbooks. Even laptop-tablet hybrids have been released, and now Toshiba too is introducing its Intel Atom-powered Netbook PCs. The laptop line was hinted at back in December and the company has finally made the official introduction.

The company created its new computers based on the design of the NB00. What differs form previous laptop models is the inclusion of the Intel Atom N450 processor. The Pine Trail is Intel's latest advancement in its efforts to create better and more energy efficient central processing units. Not only Toshiba, but also ASUS, MSI and others have announced or already launched their respective products based on the new platform.

Toshiba's netbook family, which will be on display at CES 2010, is made up of the NB200 model, the NB300 and the NB305. They, as already mentioned, obviously employ the Intel Atom N450 central processor which has a clock frequency of 1.66 MHz. In addition, all of the products have a hard drive of 250GB and a 10.1-inch screen with a maximum resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Some of the models also come with built-in 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and three Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports. Out of these, one is able to power peripherals even when the netbook is asleep.

Per the NB00's design, the products are supplied with electricity by 6-cell batteries which, Toshiba claims, will allow for continuous operation of up to 11 hours. In addition, all the new models will be running Windows 7 Starter Edition or Windows XP Home.

The company did not specify anything regarding the products' prices, but it did mention that all the netbooks would be going on sale in the United kingdom by the end of the month. They will come in white and brown shades.
