It appears that Toshiba is ready to let go of two certain laptop lines now that the Satellite P700 series is here to take their place, as is the Qosmio X770, both with the full feature sets that one would expect from current-generation 3D laptops.

Advanced Micro Devices just made the official introduction of its mainstream line of Accelerated Processing Units, otherwise known as the Llano mainstream Fusion series.

As such, it is no surprise to hear that makers of computers are unveiling systems based on them, desktops and notebooks both.

In this instance, it is Toshiba that has put together a new notebook line, the Satellite P700, which will replace the Satellite A660 and M640 series.

What's more, the outfit developed the Qosmio X770, equipped with not AMD chips, but an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 unit.

For those that want specifics, the P700 line includes 14-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch machines, all with the AMD A6-3400 Llano APU at their hearts.

Then again, those that so wish can still go for an Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M discrete GPU (Optimus-ready).

That said, memory and storage resources can be customized, while perks such as USB 3.0 and high-end audio definitely contribute to the classification of the systems as high-end machines.

Meanwhile, the Qosmio X770 17.3-incher has a Core i5 or Core i7 chip paired with the GTX 560M (3D Vision support is present, with active shutter glasses).

The Qosmio X770 has a starting price of $1899 (1.25TB storage and 3D Blu-ray), although the non-3D version begins at $1199. Sales will start later this month.

As for the P700 ones (scheduled for June 21), the P745 starts at $699, while the 15-inch P755 and 17-inch and P775, oddly enough, can be cheaper, at $629, or so reports say.
