The Toshiba Chromebook has been surrounded into a shroud of mystery until not so long ago

A while ago, an early unpublished review of a Toshiba Chromebook surfaced online, showing us the company was gearing up to release its first Chromebook ever.

It was to be expected, since most brand vendors like HP, Samsung or Acer have already pushed out into the wild multiple Chromebook offerings. ASUS is expected to jump on board of the same bandwagon this year, too and that only left Toshiba.

The company managed to keep the secrecy concerning the product, but as CES 2014 is ready to kicks-start, the guys over at 9to5Google have spotted a pretty prominent Chromebook stand being prepped at the fair. So you know what this means, we’ll get to finally lay eyes on the new Chrome-enhanced device.

The Chromebook is expected to be the first to sport a 13.3-inch screen and draw power from an Intel Celeron 2955U (from the Haswell family) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Other featured specs include an HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 port and a SD card reader.

Expect the new Toshiba Chromebook to sport a price tag of about $279 / €205.
