Toshiba has introduced a new storage device, one that will share the data stored onto it with all PCs and mobile devices connected to an existing network.

That's right, the Canvio Home is a NAS (network-attached storage device) with a LAN port that gives network access to the 3 TB of information stored inside.

Well, there is a 2 TB model as well, priced at $200 / €148, but the 3 TB, $260 / €192 drive is the so-called flagship here.

Streaming video and music to DLNA-capable gadgets is possible as well. You can even do it wirelessly, according to Toshiba.

Come to think of it, the Cancio Home does resemble a wireless router if you look at it from a certain angle.

That said, the Canvio Home can also be accessed from anywhere else, even through Android or iOS apps, not just from home.
