Toshiba took some time out of its busy schedule today in order to release a number of laptops that support the WiMAX, and its Satellite series was accompanied by the Portege R705-P35, a mobile PC powered by a 32nm Core CPU.

WiMAX is, currently, the best known name on the 4G technology market and has, so far, gained coverage in 54 cities worldwide.

The laptop has a screen size of 13.3 inches, measures about one inch in thickness and, as a consequence, was a weights of only three pounds.

It has a customizable configuration centered around an Intel Core CPU based on the 32nm manufacturing process technology.

The machine also boasts the Intel Wireless Display technology, which wirelessly (obviously) streams videos to HDTVs, for the ultimate multimedia enjoyment.

Other features include a premium raised tile keyboard and a long battery life rating, though the exact lifespan depends on the chosen hardware.

“A WiMAX-equipped laptop gives on-the-go consumers the connection speeds they’re used to in the office or at home without the need for additional hardware,” said Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division.

“We are expanding our effort to provide more WiMAX-ready laptops to our line as mobile connectivity becomes even more essential for productivity and digital entertainment,” he added.

The Toshiba Portege R705-P35 has a manufacturer suggested retail price of $899.99 and, like all of its other peers, will start selling on September 26.

“The Portege R705-P35 epitomizes portability and power,” states the company's official press release, available in full form here.

“With a 13.3-inch diagonal widescreen display, the laptop has a starting weight of just three pounds, measures about one inch thin and features a premium raised tile keyboard and a long battery life rating,” the release added.
