Toshiba has just introduced its Satellite X205 series of gaming notebooks, that come by default with Intel's Penryn processors and a little bit of Nvidia's SLI graphics technology. Shortly put, the new notebooks
in Toshiba's gaming lineup pack everything but the kitchen sink, and you shouldn't be surprised if your desktop fails to live up to their technical specifications.

According to the company, the new Satellite X205-SLi5 and Satellite X205-SLi6 are designed to deliver high-performance both while gaming and running computing-intensive tasks, such as graphics or video processing. Both models come equipped with dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics cards and Intel's 45nm processor technology for an optimal gaming experience.

Despite the fact that both models come with a 17-inch widescreen TruBrite TFT LCD display, the notebooks sport a built-in HDMI port that allows the user to connect the gaming rig to a HD-ready LCD display, in order to play the latest gaming titles at full-1080i high-definition resolutions.

The notebooks also come with a S/P DIF output port, that teams up with the Dolby Sound Room technology for a fully digital audio experience in a 5.1 sound environment.

Toshiba's latest gaming notebooks feature massive storage space spread on dual hard drives totaling 320GB (for the Satellite X205-SLi5 model) and 400GB (for the Satellite X205-SLi6 version). Although Toshiba still sticks to conventional hard-disk drives in its flagship notebooks, the 7,200 RPM speeds won't make gamers lose performance.

Additionally, the notebooks come with a built-in 1.3 megapixel Webcam that can be used during LAN shootouts or for more friendly purposes, such as instant messaging and chats.

The two notebooks come with a pre-installed version of Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit and 3 GB of system RAM out of the maximum 4 GB supported by the motherboard. Both models are already available for order and sell for $1,999 (Satellite X205-SLi5) and $2,499 (Satellite X205-SLi6), respectively.
