14 DAY TRIAL // Toshiba released yet another 14.1-inch notebook, which is already available for purchase, although the company seems to have omitted to announce it. The Toshiba E105 comes dressed up with style in a fusion finish with copper tones and a backlit keyboard for easy usage in the dark. The notebook, resembling a lot Apple's MacBook Pro, is powered by an Intel 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo processor and features 4GB of memory.
The exterior of Toshiba E105 is complemented by a 14.1" WXGA TFT-LCD widescreen display which comes with TruBrite technology and 1280 x 800 resolution, able to offer native support for 720p content. Under the hood, the new Satellite mobile PC also hides a 320GB SATA hard drive, along with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, an integrated solution which features HDMI output. For optical storage, the new machine features a multi-format DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support.
The features list does not end here for this small mobile PC. It also has a built-in fingerprint reader for improved security, built-in webcam and microphone, built-in speakers, a 5-in-1 bridge media adapter which supports Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO and xD-Picture Card formats, 2 high-speed USB 2.0 ports, 1 eSATA/USB combo port, built-in Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support, built-in 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet LAN with RJ-45 connector, as well as built-in Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100AGN wireless connectivity.
Toshiba E105 comes with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition 64-bit Service Pack 1 (SP1) Operating System pre-installed. The notebook is shipped along with a Lithium-ion battery, AC power cable, Toshiba DVD Player, Disc Creator, PowerCinema; Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5; Adobe Acrobat Reader and more software packages, as well as owner's manual.
The new Toshiba Satellite notebook weighs 5 lbs. and measures 1.2” in height, 13.4” in width and 9.7” in depth, which place it into the ultra-portable category of mobile PCs. The Toshiba E105 is listed at Best Buy for pre-orders at a $1,199.99 price tag.
