While everyone is now talking about the latest Intel Centrino 2 technology, one of the three of Toshiba's newest notebooks isn't all about this Intel mobile platform. Despite the fact that Toshiba announced the products one month ago, it is just now that we can finally get to take a closer look at their technical specifications. Not in the least surprising, just like other similar products, they come built on the new Centrino 2 platform.

The notebooks are part of the company's Qosmio lineup, which means that they are designed to provide a number of high-performance and even first-time features. There are
three new models, simply dubbed G55, F55 and the gaming-ready X305. All three are built using the latest Intel mobile technology, but the G55 sets itself apart from the rest of the gang for one of its significant features.

As expected, the new Toshiba Qosmio G55 notebook is on one of the same technologies that Sony uses for its PS3 consoles. The Cell processor comes under the brand name of "Quad Core HD Processor" and, as some of you already know, has been developed jointly by Toshiba, Sony and IBM. However, for this particular product, the Cell CPU has been designed to provide computing support for something else than just gaming. According to Toshiba, the G55 Cell processor will take the multimedia load from the Intel CPU, and will deal with things like gesture control, face navigation, transcoding and upscaling to HD. All of these terms are explained on the company's official website.

The other two notebooks are equally interesting, mostly because they will provide their users with a number of customer-oriented features and the latest Intel mobile technology. The F55 is relatively a standard notebook, only that it comes equipped with a built-in GPS receiver for navigation, although the number of car drivers who use their laptops as GPS devices is highly questionable. It also equipped with one of NVIDIA's GeForce 9700M GTS cards, which will do just fine with the 15.4-inch TruBrite high-def display.

Toshiba also comes to meet the needs of gaming users, with the latest Intel Centrino 2-enabled X305, which besides all other technical specifications, also offers a uniquely cool-looking design. Other than that, the notebook will be made available exclusively at Best Buy, and will provide its users with an NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GTS video card, Core 2 Duo P7350 processor and a 17.1-inch widescreen display for hardcore gaming on the go.
