Torment: Tides of Numenera Funded in Six Hours via Kickstarter

The Kickstarter effort for the inXile developed Torment: Tides of Numenera is complete after just six hours, with the team getting backing from close to 18,500 fans for their project.

The team was initially aiming to get 900,000 dollars (730,000 Euro) from players and it seems that in the remaining 30 days of Kickstarter presence the amount might break new records for the service.

An official update from Brian Fargo and the inXile team states, "Thank you for backing our vision once again and we will not let you down. We will continue to communicate and make sure we solicit input such that the game is hitting all the right notes."

Torment: Tides of Numenera will be launched during December 2014 and will use traditional role playing game mechanics, with an entire new fantasy world for the player to explore.
