The development team at inXile is announcing two new stretch goals for their Kickstarter-funded Torment: Tales of Numenera, after the title managed to reach its funding goal in just six hours.

At 1.5 million dollars (1.15 million Euro), Tony Evans and Mur Lafferty will bring their skills to the table and contribute to the story and the universe of Tales of Numenera.

Their combined work experience includes titles like: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir, Vampire, Mage, Exalted, the World of Warcraft role-playing game, Dragon Age 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2.

The official update states, “We have designed the game’s storyline to be highly scalable and modular, and this allows us to bring in additional writing talent to enhance Torment’s story through deeper content and new areas and characters – both optional ones and on the critical path.”

Nathan Long, who is currently writing a Wasteland 2 novella, will also bring his skills to the Numenera setting in order to create an unique work for backers who get the appropriate reward tier.

If inXile gets 2 million dollars (1.46 million Euro) then it will also add one more companion to the cast of four that’s already planned for Tales of Numenera.

The team says, “The Toy is a changing ball of goo: Is it a pet, an abandoned toy, a dangerous weapon? Whatever it is, it responds to the way you treat it by changing its appearance and abilities to reflect what it perceives as your desires.”

Mark Morgan will also add more music to the game, enhancing the atmosphere.

Finally, Monte Cook will with contribute more lore details, expanding the scope of the game.

The team at inXile will also give fans of Torment: Tales of Numenera a way to contribute to the development process via PayPal.
