The '90210' star and daughter of late TV producer Aaron Spelling is in the final negotiations with producers Barry and Fran Weissler for the part that is currently played by Tom Hanks' wife, Rita Wilson.
The producers of the long running musical said that Tori is, quote, 'on hold for now but remains a strong possibility' for the part of the murderess Roxie Hart.
And, if she is accepted and she accepts, she will join R&B artist Usher, who already signed in for the part of lawyer Billy Flynn, at the beginning of August.
Tori wouldn't be the first celebrity from different domains of the entertainment industry the producers convinced to get up on the stage. Other big names include Brooke Shields, Melanie Griffith, Huey Lewis and Billy Zane.
Of course, Miss Spelling is probably the first one who made a name in showbiz not by her acting skills (as she has none) but because her father was such a big-shot who introduced her everywhere.
