Tori Spelling and her mother Candy have been feuding for so many years that people have probably already forgotten what or who initiated the conflict. Still, neither is willing to back off, although, in Tori’s defense, she did mellow out in recent months. Candy, on the other hand, is relentless, saying in a recent interview that it was her daughter who ultimately killed famous TV producer Aaron Spelling, as
SocialiteLife informs, citing an E! Online report.
Spelling passed away in June 2003 after suffering a heart attack. At the time of his death, he was still not on speaking terms with his daughter, although the two had met prior to that to try and work out their differences. Since Aaron’s death, mother and daughter have stopped seeing eye to eye altogether, mostly because Tori was left almost penniless when the producer’s vast estate was divided in between the surviving members of the family. Now, Candy is saying that it was her daughter who was ultimately responsible for Aaron’s death.
“My daughter one day decided that she wasn’t speaking to my husband, myself and my son, and that’s how it’s continued for the last, oh gosh, four or five years.” Candy said during a radio interview meant to promote her latest book, “Candyland.” “And it was sad, that’s what killed my husband, actually. He just didn’t want to live after that. He [had] just done everything he could possibly do for his daughter, and she wanted no part of him once he couldn’t do anything for her.” Candy further said.
As of now, Tori has not responded in any way to her mother’s comments but, given the more diplomatic stance she has approached in recent months, it’s unlikely she’ll answer the same way she would have done, say, two years ago. Instead, she will probably say something along the lines, “my mother continues to speak badly about our relationship and to put me in an unfavorable light, but she remains the grandmother of my children and for that I will keep quiet,” like she already did a couple of times before, when Candy also got a bit too carried away during interviews.
Candy Spelling is not the only one promoting a book right now from the Spelling clan. Tori is also a successful author once more, having just recently released her “Mommywood,” a look into the life of a proud Hollywood woman who joggles career and motherhood – and lives to tell the story.
