Canadian mobile phone users should be able to enjoy the capabilities of Research In Motion's latest flagship device, the BlackBerry Torch 9800, within the following few weeks, as major carriers in the country are gearing up for its release.

Among these carriers, we can count Rogers, which might make the phone available on its airwaves on September 15, one day before the rumored launch date at TELUS (which might have it priced at $299.95 on a 3-year contract).

While Rogers and TELUS might launch the device one day after the other, it still remains to be seen when Bell would put the Torch 9800 on sale, since the carrier did not offer info on this area, even if it came up with an info page for the slider.

The news on Rogers' plans for BlackBerry Torch 9800 come from what seems to be a leaked Future Shop inventory shot (available here), where one can clearly see the: “Street Date 2010-09-15” part.

However, there are great chances that this would be the launch of pre-sales for the device at Rogers, and not the actual release date for the device, so we'll wait for more info on the matter to be sure.

In the meantime, we should have a look at what seem to be the price tags the Torch would have over at TELUS, depending on the chosen contract length, which were pulled from the new TELUS Torch 9800 page.

Thus, the 9800 might cost $299.95 on a 3-year contract, $399.95 on a 2-year contract, or $499.95 on a 1-year contract. The prices are not active yet, and they might be lower when the phone becomes available.

According to MobileSyrup, the leak seems to be quite odd, since the carrier does not price its handsets with the $0.95 ending. Moreover, the news site notes that “TELUS pricing usually goes in $50 increments.”

The TELUS pricing was already removed from the source code of the said page, but exact details on this should be made available as the Torch's launch date gets nearer.
